Dr. rer. nat. Dirk Bunthoff was born in 1954 in Recklinghausen. He studied physics in Cologne and worked out his thesis in Coal Gasification at Bergbauforschung GmbH, Essen. He helds a doctorate in Natural Sciences. Dr. Bunthoff started his international career as project manager for a pilot power station for pressurized fluidized bed combustion in Grimethorpe, England. From 1984 on, he worked at the Deutsche Babcock Werke AG, Oberhausen, and the Lentjes AG, Düsseldorf, holding various management positions. In 1996, Dr. Dirk Bunthoff was President of ABB Umwelttechnik GmbH and was appointed to the Management Board of ABB Kraftwerke AG, Mannheim one year later and to CEO in 1999. At ABB ALSTOM Power he joined the Management Team of the worldwide steam boiler segment. From 2001- 2003 he took responsibility for the worldwide manufacturing and logistics of gas turbines as Vice President at ALSTOM Power. Dr. Dirk Bunthoff was appointed CEO and Chairman of the Lurgy Lentjes AG, a subgroup of mg technologies ag, on February 1, 2003. In 2004, after the restructure of mg technologies group, Dr. Bunthoff joined the management consulting TopManagerTeam GmbH in Bad Homburg. In June 2005, Dr. Dirk Bunthoff has been appointed CEO and Chairman of the Board of Masa AG. He is managing the divisions Technology, Production, Finance, Controlling and Human Resources. |
